16 Essential Health Rules for a Healthier Life
When it comes to health, there’s no quick fix or ultimate destination where once you arrive, everything becomes perfect. Health is a journey we must keep traveling on. Just as there are rules to follow for any journey, which if ignored could lead to mishaps, our health journey also has some essential rules. Following these not only makes our life journey smoother but also keeps us healthier and helps us enjoy life more. In today’s Blog, I’ll share 16 rules that, if followed, can help you stay healthy forever. So, quickly grab a pen and paper to jot down these rules, and keep them somewhere visible so you remember them every day.
Let's start this interesting Blog without delay and get into the details of each rule.
Friends, since there are a lot of rules, I’ll try not to go into excessive detail today so the Blog doesn’t get too long. My goal is to explain everything briefly but effectively so that you understand it well. However, if anything is unclear, feel free to ask in the comment section below. Also, we’ve put a lot of effort into creating this Blog and curating these rules, so if you find it useful, please like and share it with others.
So, let’s begin with the first rule:
1. Always use rock salt in your meals –
Rock salt, also known as pink Himalayan salt, doesn’t cause water retention or increase blood pressure like white salt does. So, it has a lesser adverse impact on your health.
2. Walk at least 500 steps after dinner –
Research shows that walking after dinner helps in weight reduction, prevents gas and acidity, and even improves sleep quality.
3. Avoid drinking water immediately after meals –
Wait for at least half an hour after eating before drinking water, as drinking immediately weakens digestion, increases weight, and can cause bloating.
4. Drink 3-4 liters of water daily –
This helps prevent almost all types of stomach ailments, protects against kidney stones, and flushes out harmful toxins.
5. Start your day with a glass of warm water and splash cold water on your eyes –
This helps detoxify the body and improves eyesight.
6. Avoid using refined oils in cooking –
Instead, use desi ghee from cows. If that's not affordable, you can opt for mustard oil, coconut oil, or sesame oil, as these are healthier than refined oils, which undergo extensive chemical processing.
7. Incorporate colorful foods into your diet –
Add more colorful vegetables and fruits to your meals and avoid white foods, as they are low in fiber and high in calories, potentially leading to obesity.
8. Limit white foods like sugar, salt, rice, and flour –
These can cause weight gain, constipation, and provide fewer nutrients.
9. Avoid yogurt, beans, and rice at night –
According to Ayurveda, these foods cause gas and acidity if eaten at night and may lead to weight gain.
10. Avoid tea or coffee on an empty stomach –
Drinking them on an empty stomach increases stomach acid and reduces appetite.
11. Avoid heavy meals at night –
This can lead to rapid weight gain, slows metabolism, and increases risks of diabetes, cholesterol issues, and heart disease.
12. Eat an apple daily –
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” so make it a rule to eat a whole apple daily.
13. Aim for 10,000 steps daily –
Use a step tracker on your smartphone to ensure you’re reaching this goal.
14. Drink a glass of lemon water daily –
Lemon water helps with weight management and body detox, while also boosting immunity.
15. Eat a bowl of salad before lunch –
Salad before lunch helps control blood sugar, reduces weight, and boosts digestion.
16. Sip water slowly while sitting –
Avoid drinking it in one go or while standing, and try to avoid cold water as it can cause digestive issues and affect cholesterol levels.
If you adopt these 16 rules, you can avoid a wide range of health issues. Remember, staying healthy isn’t as hard as it seems; it’s all about adopting the right practices and avoiding the harmful ones. Our bodies are designed by nature in a way that they can heal themselves if provided with the right nutrition and environment.
