Hello, friends! To save the lives of wild animals like a blackbuck, how passionate can a person be? You will be surprised to know this. This is the story of a young man, who lived in a district where blackbucks were dying every month. He used to get angry and sad at this. But he didn't know what to do. When this boy was in college, he attended a conference by the Bishnoi community about the loss of forests and wildlife.
This was when the meaning of life changed for this young man. After completing his studies, he returned to his village and decided to save the blackbucks. But the problem was how could a 20-year-old boy stand up against the hunters? He asked the villagers to alert him if they come to know about a hunt. Once, a villager told him as much.
That a hunt was about to take place. It was a cold winter night, the temperature was around 14°C. But still, this young man rode his motorcycle for 30 km. By the time he reached there, unfortunately, the deer was already hunted. And its meat was being cooked there. So he called the police and got the hunter arrested.
A case was filed under Schedule 1 of Wildlife Act, 1972. It was like a warning for the local hunters. Sometime later, there was another similar case. Again, he received information that blackbucks would be hunted. And once again, by the time he reached there, the animal had been hunted. When this man tried to stop the hunters alone, a hunter pointed a gun to his head.
The man was scared for a bit, but if it was necessary to risk his life to save a species, he couldn't hesitate. After this, the police come and arrested the hunter and this is how he came out of it alive. Friends, do you know who this young man of our story is? He is Bishnoi, 51 years old Anil Bishnoi. His story was published in The Better India, an amazing media portal that regularly puts a spotlight on many such real-life heroes.
Anil Bishnoi is a farmer living in Laksar, a village in Rajasthan. To date, he has caught more than 300 hunters red-handed. He files cases, presents witness testimonies, and keeps following up on the case as long as it goes on. He helps in getting the criminals to jail. Apart from being hunted, there are other reasons behind the deaths of blackbucks, like road accidents, extreme climates, and being bitten by dogs.
That's why Anil Bishnoi raised ₹200,000 from the village and prepared 66 'Pokhars,' where these animals can come to drink water in the summer. If an animal is injured, he provides first aid at his home or at the forest department's medical centre. If a mother dies, he raises the baby blackbucks and chinkaras until they are ready to be released in the forest.
Today, across 12 districts in Rajasthan, he has a team of around 3,000 people and in all these years, he has saved around 10,000 Blackbucks and Chinkaras from being killed. This is why in 2021, the Rajasthan government awarded Anil Bishnoi the Amrita Devi Environmental Protection Award. Now the amazing part is that, some people are busy praising Bishnoi on social media.
You can see such discussions on our news media every week. And one Twitter user even said that Bishnoi is India's new Bhagat Singh. Wow. But the problem is that these people aren't talking about Anil Bishnoi. They don't even know about Anil Bishnoi. They are talking about Lawrence Bishnoi. Who is this Lawrence Bishnoi? How many blackbucks has he saved? We couldn't find anything about him ever working in wildlife protection.
Now let's get back to our story. On one hand, Anil Bishnoi studied at a college in Suratgarh.
And made environment and wildlife protection his life's mission. On the other hand, Lawrence Bishnoi studied at a college in Chandigarh and what did he do? He got into student politics. Well, that's actually good. I believe that students should be political. Bhagat Singh was also political during his college days.
He raised his voice against the atrocities of the British government. In an earlier Blog on him I told you how Bhagat Singh was an intellectual of the highest order. He used to read a lot because he believed that guns and pistols cannot bring revolution. The sword of revolution can only be sharpened on the whetstone of ideology.
He wrote numerous articles for publications like Kirti, like The Religious Riots and Their Solutions. In this article, he told the public how communal forces were destroying the country. He was talking about the frequent riots back then, how people were killing each other only because their religious identities were different.
In this article, Bhagat Singh gave solutions too. To awaken class-consciousness among people. Meaning that they should realise that whether they are Hindus or Muslims, they belong to the same class. And poor people from all over the world, regardless of their race, religion or nationality, have the same rights.
They will benefit only when all forms of discrimination is eradicated and they take power in their own hands. At the end of the articles he hoped that, India's wellwishers will think about these solutions, and will save the country from self-destruction. I have talked about these articles in detail in this Blog.
If you haven't seen it, the link is in the description. But the question here is did Lawrence think about these solutions? Did he do anything for the unity of the country? Ask yourself. Bhagat Singh had expressed his regret that the farmer who grows grains for everyone always goes hungry himself? The one who weaves clothes for everyone, why don't his children have clothes? Did Lawrence protest to help farmers get a higher price for their crops? No.
So what was Lawrence Bishnoi's student politics? Police dossier shows that Lawrence Bishnoi was campaigning for a candidate in the student politics election. When a fight broke out with the opposing party. One of his friends fired to send a warning, and 5 days later, with his friends, he, set fire to the car of a person campaigning for the rival candidate.
He was arrested along with 8 friends. While in jail, he met a weapons supplier. After he was released, the criminal activities continued. Many more cases were filed. But when both the parties made a compromise, the cases were quashed. In 2010, he was a contender for the Student Organisation President post of Punjab University.
Look at this article. When he lost the election he allegedly attacked his rival candidate. In 2011, he was released on bail, he contested the election again and won this time. While in college, he had been charged with about 18 cases. In 2012, Lawrence got his law degree and what will any person do after getting a law degree? He will start practising law.
But did Lawrence do this? No. He did go to the courts but not to get justice for innocent people, not as a lawyer but as an accused. In 2013, he nominated someone for the President's post and look at this article. During the campaign, allegedly, with his associates, he k!lled the rival nominee. And then they ran away.
In 2014, Lawrence was caught at a police picket, and in 2015 he escaped from police custody during a court hearing. But he was arrested again. By this point in time, he had established his position as the gang's leader. Lawrence's friend Goldy Brar started running the gang. Also, there was 'ease of doing business' in this new India.
That's why, even though he is in jail, a criminal can continue his activities. So, Lawrence joined hands with another gangster, Sandeep aka Kala Jathedi. They got into a fight later but the police say that when they were working together, the Lawrence-Kala Jathedi gang committed 30 murders in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
Do you know what murder means? For the sake of entertainment, murder is so normalised and stylised in movies or in Blog games like PUBG. As if, once the game is over, everything will be reset. But in real life, when people die, they don't come back. Their families are destroyed forever. Not only financially, but emotionally as well.
More than 30 families have been destroyed. One of Lawrence's bitter enemies was Davinder Bambiha. Why was there an enmity between the two? Was it because Davinder Bambiha along with an international network was working to instigate religious riots in the country? Or was he supplying drugs to the youth? And Lawrence was trying to stop all this? No, that wasn't the case.
However, if there's ever a Bollywood film on Lawrence then they will definitely bring in this kind of glorification and justification. But the truth is that Lawrence and Davinder's enmity was because of extortion money. This means that people who cannot work hard to make a living, often threaten others and take their hard-earned money.
Threatening to kill them if they refuse to pay. And only if they pay, they won't be harmed. And in fact, they'll be protected from other gangs as well. Davinder Bambiha's extortion racket ran in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. But Lawrence wanted this extortion money, and because of their inter-gang rivalry, there were shootouts in Punjab, Delhi, and Chandigarh.
There was another reason for the fight, apart from the extortion money. To establish their hold over the Punjab music industry and Kabaddi players. But in September 2016, Davinder Bambiha was killed in a police encounter. "Breaking news from Bhatinda, where gangster Davinder Bambiha, has been killed in a police encounter.
" The youth is very attracted to these gangsters nowadays. But they need to understand this well. When a gangster is alive, he has to hide from others. He's either in jail or if he isn't in jail, his life is like living in a luxury jail. Even if he has money and every luxury, he has to hide from others.
Whether it is Lawrence Bishnoi or Dawood Ibrahim. The way people like you and me might enjoy a Kulfi at India Gate, go rafting with friends in Rishikesh, celebrate festivals with our families, these gangsters do not have this freedom. They are continuously afraid that someone will kill them. Either some other gangster will kill them or they will be killed in a police encounter.
Or they will be locked up in a jail. Or it's also possible that they will be killed inside the jail. There are so many examples of this, apart from Davinder Bambiha. Take another famous gangster of the Lawrence gang, Ankit Bhadu. When Lawrence was jailed, Ankit ran the gang in Punjab and Rajasthan. There were 4 murders and 15 extortion cases on him.
And in February 2019, he died in a police encounter in Zirakpur. Not only this, a report in Jansatta states that after his death, his father refused to take his body from the hospital. He reportedly said that this was the result of his son's actions. And he appealed to the youth to not be like his son. Warning them of the same fate if the chose the same path.
Such is the story of the dreaded criminal Jitender Gogi. He was also connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang. He was on the run from police for 4 years and finally in March 2020, the police arrested him. He was then being brought to Rohini court for a hearing, when two people came dressed as lawyers and shot him in the court premises.
These two assassins, Jagga and Rahul, were also killed by the police there. They were the people of Jitender Gogi's rival Sunil Balyan aka Tillu Tajpuria's gang. About 1.5 years later, Tillu Tajpuria was also killed. Where? In the high-security ward of Tihar Jail. Four people from the Gogi gang attacked him more than 100 times with iron rods.
I can't show you the CCTV Blog of this incident here, but those who are interested in crimes should search for it on YouTube. And just like this, taking revenge and a revenge of that revenge, 20 people, including them, were killed in the rivalry of the Gogi and Tillu gangs. Lawrence Bishnoi's associate Goldy Brar made a Facebook post saying that the members of the Gogi Maan group made the others proud by avenging their brother and leader Gogi.
He called the members of the other gang dogs and said that they would meet the same end soon. Friends, the friendship between these gangs isn't like Jai and Veeru's from the film Sholay. Their funda is different. They believe in the saying 'an enemy's enemy is a friend.' Apart from the Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jethedi, and Jitender Gogi gangs, there were some other gangs in their syndicate.
Like Sube Gujjar and Rajasthan-based Anandpal Singh. Of them, Sube Gujjar was arrested by Haryana's special task force in 2021. In 2022, Manesar Nagar Nigar and police demolished his beautiful 4-storey house. The value of this house built from the proceedings of criminal activities was around ₹40 million.
It's said that it was constructed illegally. On the other hand, Anandpal Singh was killed in a police encounter. A few months ago, a CBI court observed that Anandpal had surrendered but he was still shot dead. Anandpal's associate Anuradha Chaudhary aka Madam Minz married Kala Jathedi. So, on one hand, we have the Lawrence, Kala Jathedi, Gogi, Sube Gujjar, and Anandpal Singh's crime syndicate and another rival crime syndicate, which included Davinder Bambiha Gang, Neeraj Bawana, Tillu Tajpuria, Sandeep Dhillu, and Kaushal Chaudhary.
Of them, Bambiha and Tillu have been killed, and the three others are in jail. There are more than 40 cases on Neeraj Bawana, including murder, attempt to murder, extortion, and land grabbing. One night in April 2015, he was on his way to meet his family secretly when he was arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell.
In October 2017, he was put in solitary confinement, there will be no other prisoners around him. His lawyer later requested the court that he is suffering from mental problems like depression because of loneliness. In April 2018, the court ordered him to be shifted to another secure ward where he can talk to other prisoners.
Police also arrested one of his associates, Sachin alias Golu. The house he was staying in was registered in the name of Neeraj's father, Prem Singh. There was a MG Hector in that house, a modified Scorpio that was made bulletproof. Four pistols, 89 cartridges, and two spare magazines were also found.
Because of this, Neeraj's father, Prem Singh, was also arrested in October 2022. The second gangster, Sandeep Dhillu, escaped from police custody in 2018. He was arrested again in Siliguri in 2020. And look at this report from Aaj Tak. "Criminal With ₹200,000 Bounty Arrested" "Scared of an Encounter, Wife Made the Blog Go Viral" In the Blog, you can see Dhillu's wife saying, "I am Priyanka, wife of Sandeep.
My husband has been arrested. I am afraid that my husband might be encountered." I am telling you all of this in such detail so that you can understand the lives of these gangsters. If a person decides to go into the world of crime, this is what his friends and family have to go through. The third gangster was Kaushal Chaudhary.
Last year, there was a news about him that he tried to commit suicide by snatching a hair trimmer from the barber while in police custody. But the police saved him and filed another case of attempt to suicide on him. This week, there were two more news related to him. First, two of his shooters shot at a businessman's house in Rani Bagh, Delhi.
(15:50) For an extortion amount of ₹150 million. They left a slip which said "Kaushal Chaudhary - Pawan Shokeen - Bambiha Gang" Both the shooters were arrested. And the second news was Kaushal Chaudhary made a plan to kill Lawrence. Also, this was in news a while back. Kshatriya Karni Sena announced a reward of ₹11,111,111 to the police officer who will kill Lawrence Bishnoi.
This is because when Karni Sena President, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was murdered, Lawrence Gang had assumed its responsibility. This news was later updated that not only a police officer, even a prisoner of the Sabarmati Jail will get the reward if he kills Lawrence. "If a police officer, kills Lawrence Bishnoi in an encounter, that police officer, will receive ₹11,111,111 as reward, from the Karni Sena.
" And on the other hand, Kaushal Chaudhary is also on Lawrence's hit list. As reported by Lawrence himself to the NIA in an interrogation. But why? Kaushal Chaudhary is said to have played a role in the murder of Vicky Middukhera. Vicky was close to Lawrence since his student politics days. He was murdered in August 2021.
Vicky's name was in only one FIR from October 2020 registered at Chandigarh's Sector 39 Police Station. In this FIR, Vicky was accused of being a member of the Lawrence Gang and providing logistical support to the members of that gang. A year after the murder, the Mohali's SSP, Vivek Sheel Soni, said in his statement that merely because of being close to the Lawrence Gang, Vicky was a target of the rival Bambiha Gang.
After the death of Davinder Bambiha, this gang was run by Lucky Padial. Delhi Police's counter-intelligence unit cracked the case and revealed that on the instructions of Lucky Padiyal, Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar had conspired the murder. Four sharpshooters were hired for this and 12 gangsters from the Bambiha gang were arrested.
Including three shooters. They too named Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar in the interrogation. Here, another character enters our story. In a report about Amit Dagar by the Navbharat Times it was mentioned that at one point, Amit Dagar of the Kaushal Group threatened Lawrence and demanded ransom. When Lawrence refused to pay, in Jaipur, Amit Dagar's goons killed an official from a construction company with which Lawrence was connected.
It is said that then, Lawrence Bishnoi had paid a ransom of ₹50 million to Amit Dagar. Today, Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar, both are in jail like Lawrence Bishnoi. Amit Dagar had a love marriage with Twinkle. Last year, there was news of her arrest too. ACP Varun Dhaiya said that she was operating Amit Dagar's gang.
A complaint was registered against her that in Gurgaon's Khansa Mandi, she would extort ₹3,000-₹4,000 from the vegetable vendors. "We succeeded in arresting her, she was involved in running extortion racket in Khansa Mandi. She is accused of illegal extortion, and other serious crimes related to extortion.
An investigation has begun into these allegations." Apart from Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar, Lawrence had named another target, Mandeep Dhariwal. Lawrence had alleged that Mandeep helped Vicky's killers. Mandeep was also connected to Lucky Padial. And used to manage his business. He was killed in the Philippines and the Lawrence-Goldy Brar gang assumed the responsibility for the murder.
Another target was Shaganpreet Singh late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala's manager. Punjab police testified in court that there is sufficient evidence that along with Lucky Padial, Shaganpreet was also a chief conspirator in Vicky's murder. After which he fled to Australia. An open warrant to arrest him has been issued.
They're attempting to bring him back to India. In May 2022, Sidhu Moosewala was murdered. And Lawrence's friend Goldy Brar, took responsibility for the murder. Delhi Police's Special Cell reported that Shaganpreet Singh and Sidhu Moosewala were involved in Vicky's murder. After Sidhu Moosewala's murder, there was a report by Siddharth Banerjee published in the Times of India.
Many sources were cited to claim that as soon as an artist becomes a big name, he starts getting threatening calls for extortion. A manager of many Punjabi singers said that singers are called to perform in Punjab University colleges. There, some goons talk to the singers who are like a nexus between students, politicians, and gangsters.
Suppose the student politician is affiliated with Gang A. After some time, the singer gets an extortion call from Gang B. Many times the singers pay the extortion money. But many times he talks to the student politician and takes help from Gang A. The singer did not intend to be a part of any gang or nexus but just like this, he gets trapped in the middle.
An intelligence official told DW that the bad elements whose patronage is sought by the singers turn into the singer's Frankenstein's monster some time later. Friends, my aim in this Blog was to show you the real lives of gangsters. In movies and news channels, gangsters are often glorified. They are blown out of proportion and so stylish.
This is why many people start worshipping these gangsters. But this is the reality. Some gangsters are killed in police encounters, some are killed by rival gangs, and some are in jail. Some have their father in jail, some have their wife in jail. Some have got their cousin murdered, and some their friend. Those who are alive, live in fear or struggle with depression.
The 'Gangster Life' as shown in movies and songs, that life isn't so 'Chill, bro' in reality. Think about doing something meaningful with your life. If you can't find a job, learn some skills. Think of starting some business. If you feel alienated, then reach out to your friends and family members.
But no matter what happens, don't tread the path of crimes. And if you need an inspiration for your life, then read about people like Anil Bishnoi and learn from them. And I salute all honest, hardworking police officers. Whether they are NIA's officers, or Punjab Police's Intelligence Unit, UP's ATS, Haryana Police, or the members of Delhi Police's Special Cell.
Every person who does their duty with integrity, and is protecting our nation against crimes, I salute you all! Friends, in this Blog, I focused on the personal lives of gangsters. But if you want, I can make a Part 2 of this Blog, talking about the impact of this gangster culture on our country. How does it impact our society? And Bollywood's nexus with the underworld, as well as how gangsters have been glorified in movies.
