10-Minute Morning Routine to Boost Your Brain Power and Productivity
Hello friends, in this Blog, we're sharing a 10-minute routine that, if followed daily, can boost your brain power, help you overcome procrastination, and make you feel physically and mentally healthier. It’s ideal to adopt all these habits together, but it’s okay to pick just a few that resonate with you. Just Read until the end, choose what works best, and tell us in the comments which habit you'll be following daily.
Let's get started.
1. Drink a Glass of Water
Did you know that 70% of our brain is made up of water? After 7–8 hours of sleep without water, our brain often becomes dehydrated. This is why we may feel groggy or have headaches in the morning. Starting your day by drinking one or two glasses of water on an empty stomach helps jumpstart metabolism, flush out toxins, and refresh your brain and body. You can even add lemon if you like, but remember to drink it slowly. If you want, you can also drink water from a copper vessel in the morning for additional health benefits.
2. Make Your Bed
Admiral William H. McRaven said in his famous speech that if you want to change the world, start by making your bed. This simple task sends a message to your brain that you've accomplished the first task of the day, encouraging you to tackle more tasks throughout the day.
3. Listen to Music
Your taste in music reflects your personality, and a few minutes of uplifting music in the morning can set the tone for a positive day. Try listening to soothing instrumental or upbeat songs rather than loud music.
4. Read Something Inspiring
If you want a positive and motivated mindset, start your day by reading something inspiring. You don’t need to read for hours—10 minutes is enough to feed your mind with success stories and inspirational thoughts. A recommended book is *Dr. Robert Schuller’s *Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do*, which offers short, motivating stories you can finish in just a few minutes.
5. Practice Breathing
Meditation can be challenging, but even 10 minutes of deep breathing exercises can help you feel calm, focused, and energized. Practicing breathing exercises reduces stress, anxiety, and overthinking, and it boosts energy levels.
6. Stretch
Orthopedic surgeons agree that proper stretching decreases the chances of joint injuries, reduces muscle pain, and improves blood circulation. Just 10 minutes of stretching each morning can help you feel more flexible and active throughout the day.
7. Get Sunlight
Like plants, humans also need sunlight for vitamin D. Sunlight boosts serotonin production in the brain, improving mood and cognitive functions. Just 10 minutes outdoors in the morning can keep you energized and prevent conditions like depression.
8. Take a Cold Shower
If you can bear it, a cold shower in the morning can be invigorating. Studies show that cold showers increase white blood cells, which help protect the body from illness, while also boosting energy and mental clarity.
9. Plan Your Day
Taking 10 minutes to plan your day keeps you organized and focused. Writing down your tasks and goals can prevent forgetfulness and help you follow through on your plans.
10. Reflect on Life
Before reaching for your phone in the morning, spend a few peaceful moments reflecting on your life, goals, and how you can make your day better. This practice brings clarity and self-awareness, helping you start each day with a clear mind.
