SOLAR POWERED FARMER HAT WITH SMART FEATURES-A CLEAN TECH SOLUTION FOR AGRICULTURE 4.0
Abstract:
Nowadays global warming is the most critical issue throughout the world. In summers due to high heat farmers faces different health issues during working in cultivation field. India being mostly an agricultural country, huge nos. of farmers is involved in farming industry. But with the increasing temperature of the environment it is very difficult to work in farming field. With global warming, the Ozone layer in the atmosphere is also reducing which results UV radiation to spread. Helplessly with this climate condition when farmers works in the field it results sun stroke, skin cancer, eye diseases and heat stress etc. The main motivation of this project is to give a smart solution of this problem which will help famers to work in agricultural field with extreme heat with a solar powered fan. Not only that, this proposed model will enhance the communication between farmers with inbuilt walkie-talkie system which can help proper irrigation and water circulation throughout the field, Water wastage can be minimised. Moreover, this farmer hat has inbuilt light which enables the farmer to work in field in night time also. This hat is basically a one stop solution of all above issues.

INTRODUCTION
Sun is the main source of energy on earth. All living creature on earth directly or indirectly depends on Sunlight. As per World Health Organization(WHO), sunlight helps in producing Vitamin D on human body. At the same time excessive heat of sunlight has adverse effect on human body. With increasing global warming the UV radiation in atmosphere is also increasing. UV radiation has different effects on human body especially sun stroke, skin cancer and eye related diseases. Study [1] shows that this high temperature and UV radiation mostly affects the outdoor works.India basically a Agriculture based country where a huge numbers of people earning comes from farming, so whatever is the weather condition they have to work in field throughout year. Approximately 2 million people affected due to UV radiation throughout the world.[2][3]As per the report of National Disaster Management in year 2016, the no of farmer death in India due to heat was 2422, which was 754 in year 2006.As permedical research due to heat; the death rate of farmer is 20 times higher than other industrie Now the question is why this UV radiation is increasing and the answer is excessive burning of Fossil fuels. Any countries growth depends on energy sector of that country and in India mainly energy is generated from Thermal Power station. Massive use of petrol, diesel, coal the total amount of fossil fuel on earth is decreasing day by day so every country is now focusing on non-conventional and renewable energy sources. There are different renewable energies available in market but within them solar energy is now the most hot cake in energy market. As the sun is endless source of heat, so solar energy may be considered as one of the best alternative power source. This proposed hat is solar powered and it is the solution for the outdoor workers to protect them from sun heat with some smart features. This hat is solar powered and it is made up of all natural things like bamboo. Several researches have been done on solar hat and different hats are also available in market. But this model in unique in design, features and cost. The basic feature of this solar hat is the cooling fan. 2 no of fans are attached here to cool down the head temperature in summer time for outdoor workers. This cap is not only for Farmers, this can be helpful for Traffic control persons, construction workers. This proposed cap is equipped with communication system i.e. walkie-talkie which enables communication between farmers for proper irrigation system on field. Not only for farmer it is helpful, but also for Traffic controlling person it can be a helpful item. This cap is also equipped with LED light which helps farmer to work in night also. There are some flowers which farmers cannot cultivate in daytime in winter. So sometimes it is necessary for farmer to work in night in field. So for that purpose it can be a helpful to protect the farmers from fog and insects.GPS tracking system is also inbuilt.
Proposed Model
This Proposed farmer hat is made up of bamboo. A 6 volt solar panel is attached on the top of this hat. This solar panel is connected to rechargeable battery system which is attached inside the hat. Two Battery operated fans are attached at two side of this hat for cooling purpose and a LED light is attached at the front of this hat. A GPS module is also connected in this circuit for tracking purpose. It is equipped with a walkie-talkie system for communication purpose. For charging of walkie-talkie a circuit is connected with solar powered battery. Elastic belt is stitched inside the hat for proper settlement of hat on the head. The circuit diagram for this proposed model is-
Fig.1 Block diagram of proposed model
Fig.2 Circuit diagram of proposed model The component details of the proposed model as follows- Bamboo Hat-This bamboo hat is made up with plum leaf and bamboo sticks. The purpose of making this hat with natural things is that it keeps our head cool during summer time when the temperature is very high. This hat is eco friendly and light weight and provides better sun protection. Solar Panel- As we all know solar cells are made of photovoltaic cells which is made of silicon. It absorbed sunlight from sun and convert it into electrical energy. In this proposed model a 6 volt solar panel is used. Current rating is 0.38amp at maximum power, power rating is 0 to 100 watt and size of this used solar panel is 195* 250 * 17 mm. Rechargeable Battery- In this proposed model Lithium ion Battery is used. There are different rechargeable batteries are available in market. The purpose of using Lithium battery is for fast charging of battery from solar cell .This battery is 3.7 volt. And it is used here due to their high energy density and long lasting. This is light weight, and strong time is longer LED Light- In this model a 3 watt LED light is used. This light is supplied from Lithium ion battery which is powered by solar panel. GPS Tracking System- The GPS helps farmers, traffic police, and rail workers, by providing real time locations, to ensure their safety and monitor their activity A special Monitoring system is also attached with GPS tracking system. This monitoring system is basically a missed call based monitoring. This hat's GPS tracking system has a calling no where anyone can give missed call and once the missed call signal is received by the GPS system it enables sound catching facility around the Hat and one can listen what is going on. This feature is helpful for the supervisor of a project field or Traffic control or construction work. The range of GPs tracking is 2-3 km. In this proposed model GF 07 module is used. The operating voltage is 3.4 to 4.2 V DC, standby current 2.5mA,voice activated current 30mA, GSM positioning time 25 second and frequency band GSM 850,900,1800/1900MHZ. Walkie -Talkie- A walkie-talkie system is inbuilt in this hat for better communication. The Baofeng BF-888S UHF walkie-talkie has a two way handheld interphone facility and it a rechargeable battery which is charged from solar panel charging and it has back up power up to 14 hrs.
III. IMPLEMENTATION AND OUTCOME
As per circuit diagram the proposed model has been made and it's running successfully.
Fig.3 Proposed model Front and back side The cost details of this proposed model is as follows- Bamboo Hat- 100/- Solar Panel- 220/- Fan 2 nos- 200/- LED Light- 10/- GPS Module- 700/- Walkie-Talkie- 600/- Rechargeable battery- 70/- So the total cost of this proposed model is RS: 1900/-Initially it seems to have high cost product for a farmer. For making this prototype model we have bought single piece items from market to prepare this. If this product is commercialized and if bulk production is there then the cost of the product will be under Rs: 800/-. In market different companies solar cap or hats are available. As per online market review it is very much clear that all solar powered caps are equipped with only DC fan to cool down head but others facilities are not available there. The price of those caps is around 700 to 2000 Rs.
